“For computer users, a few mouse clicks could mean the difference between staying online and losing Internet connections this summer.

Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world.

The FBI set up a website to prevent those infected from losing internet access, but that site will be shut down on July 9. Before then, go to dcwg.org and you can find out if your computer has been infected. There are links to get rid of the infection and information about how to protect your computer.

Not exactly the way I wanted to spend a Saturday morning, but there you go.
